Job Summary:

The Category Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy for the product category: Ready-to-Eat, Fresh and Non-Freash, one of the key offerings of the brand. This role demands a dynamic individual with a deep understanding of food trends, consumer preferences, and supply chain dynamics in the grocery retail sector. The successful candidate will optimize categories to drive sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Category Strategy Development: Craft and implement a comprehensive strategy for the category, aligning with market trends, consumer demands, and the company's strategic goals.
  • Product Assortment and Range Management: Curate a competitive and appealing product assortment that meets the diverse needs and preferences of the UAE market.
  • Supplier Management and Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best products at competitive prices while ensuring quality and supply reliability.
  • Sales and Profitability Targets: Set and achieve sales and profitability targets for the category, utilizing pricing strategies, promotions, and in-store and online placement to maximize performance.
  • Market and Consumer Insights: Leverage market research and consumer insights to inform category strategy, product selection, and promotional activities.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, supply chain, and store operations teams to ensure category strategy is effectively executed across all touchpoints.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and stock management practices for the category to optimize stock turn and reduce wastage.
  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Monitor category performance against key metrics, providing regular reports and insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Trend Monitoring and Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and consumer behaviors, adapting the category strategy to maintain relevance and drive growth.
  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Ensure the offering enhances the overall customer shopping experience, aligning with the brand's commitment to quality, value, and service.


  • Proven experience in category management, specifically in the Ready-to-Eat or related food categories within the retail or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the UAE grocery retail market, consumer preferences, and food trends.
  • Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills, with a track record of securing favorable terms and building productive relationships.
  • Analytical and data-driven, with experience in utilizing market research and sales data to inform category strategies.
  • Creative and innovative thinker, with the ability to identify and act on growth opportunities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communicator and team player, capable of working cross-functionally to achieve category and business objectives.
  • Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Working Conditions:

This role is based in Dubai, UAE, and may require travel to supplier locations, trade shows, and other relevant events both within and outside the UAE.
